G5RV multiband antenna

Get the classic G5RV for only 64.99 at Amateur Radio Supplies.

The G5RV antenna has been a classic design for many years now. Although it is a compromise antenna, it will work on the HF bands fairly well when coupled up with an antenna tuner. It was designed for limited space use when other, more efficient antennas are not practical.

It was invented in 1946 Louis Varney, whose call sign is G5RV ("SK" on June 28, 2000, age 89).  Hence the name, the G5RV antenna.

If you don't have the time, patience, experience or materials to build the G5RV then we recommend that you buy a commercially made G5RV from a reputable dealer like Amateur Radio Supplies.com. for info on their line of very inexpensive and very high quality G5RV antennas or click the banner below to see their full line of products!

This G5RV is 102 feet long.  The ladder line drop is 31'.This antenna is built to last and provide years of rugged service. Every component, with the exception of the SO-239 connector, is built in the United States.
This antenna is ready to hang and be put to use. Typically, the internal antenna tuning unit on your transceiver will be more than enough to tune this antenna. Otherwise, a basic antenna tuner will work just fine. In ideal circumstances this 102 ft long antenna should be placed at height of around 32’ - however, few hams have ideal circumstances and this antenna can still be a solid performer at much lower heights or in an inverted-V formation.
