The Baofeng UV-5RA programming software

See a lot of questions posted about programming the new 2013 Baofeng UV-5RA with a cable connected to your computer. The biggest of course is how easy is it to program.
From what I understand the Baofeng UV-5RA is a bit less cryptic for the consumer but it is still recommended that you use the programming cable. The cable for the original UV-5R is compatible with the UV-5Ra.
You can find them over at Amazon for under 15 bucks or you can make one yourself.
There is also an open source software program called "CHIRP" that is compatible with the Baofeng UV-5Ra radio.
You can read more about the cable HERE.

Need an adapter for that external antenna to fit your new Baofeng UV-5R radio, then take a look at 10" Inch Strain Relief - SMA Female to UHF Female available at Amateur Radio Supplies.
